The government today asserted that no case involving corruption in defence procurements took place during its two years of rule. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said, new Defence Procurement Procedure(DPP) incorporates provisions to ensure the highest degree of probity, public accountability, transparency and level playing field. He said procedure also envisages signing of an integrity Pact<br/>between Government and the bidders for all capital procurement and schemes of 20 crore rupees and above.<br/><br/>Earlier, such pacts were required only for cases involving 100 crore rupees and above.<br/><br/>The Minister said the DPP 2016 requires a foreign vendor to disclose full details of any such person, party, firm or institution engaged by them for marketing of their equipment in India. It also stipulates conditions for appointment of agents.
