No compulsion on customers to buy stove from LPG distributors, says Govt

The government has clarified that there is no compulsion on the customers to buy LPG stove of any brand or any other items from LPG distributors. <br/> <br/>In a written reply the Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Mr. Murli Deora on Thursday told the Lok Sabha that the customers are at their liberty to buy LPG stoves from any source of their choice. <br/> <br/>He said that the customers are being informed of this through advertisements in media in addition to incorporating the message on LPG refill cash memos. <br/> <br/>Mr. Deora said that the action is taken against the erring LPG distributors if the complaint is established. He said that action in nine cases was taken between April last year and February this year. <br/> <br/>The Minister however said that in order to enhance their customer service the public sector oil marketing companies are allowing LPG distributors to sell products like fuel efficient LPG stoves, Suraksha LPG hoses and portable fire extinguishers among other things.<br/>
