Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has assured the Lok Sabha that there will be no compromise on safety of plants producing energy. They include existing plants and those to be set up in future. Replying to supplementaries in the House Dr. Singh said that the focus is on the designing of the plants which conform best safety standards with international cooperation. On terror threat to the nuclear plants he said a holistic approach needs to be adopted. He however made it clear that all security precautions are in place in the nuclear plants. The Prime minister asserted that after the Japan’s disaster, he has instructed all the nuclear installations in the country to put strict safety measures in place and the Nuclear Power Corporation ensures that the safety measures in the plants are of world class. Earlier, replying the supplementaries the Minister of State V. Narayansamy said that latest technology will be used while building the proposed Jaitapur Nuclear Plant.
