Defence Minister A K Antony today asserted that there will be no compromise on territorial integrity of the country, though India is talking to Pakistan and China to develop friendly relations with them. Speaking to reporters after laying the foundation stone of the facility to manufacture 155 mm howitzer guns for the army at the Gun Carriage Factory in Jabalpur in Madhaya Pradesh , Mr Antony said Indian Army will get its first indigenously-manufactured howitzer next year. He said, the guns produced in the unit of the Ordnance Factory will be inducted in the Army by 2013. AIR correspondent reports, the army, which has not inducted artillery guns in the last 25 years, is eagerly waiting for the indigenously manufactured weapons which are being developed on the basis of the transfer of technology of the Bofors guns. He also informed that plans are afoot for modernization of ordnance factories in the country.
