He made these remarks in his report to the Congress after his recent secret visit to Afghanistan. He, however, acknowledged that progress in Afghanistan has been slow.<br/><br/> Meanwhile, the top US military commander Admiral Mike Mullen says the NATO campaign against Taliban in Kandahar will be the cornerstone of fight to reverse the escalating Afghan conflict. Talking to newsmen in Kabul yesterday, he said Kandahar is what the NATO forces are looking into now as it is the very heart of the insurgency.
