No breakthrough on Telangana issue at all-party meet

The all-party meeting on the Telangana issue could not come out with a break through as the parties remained divided on the creation of a separate state. However, the rerpresentatives of all the eight parties that took part in the meeting wanted normalcy to be resored and made a joint appeal for peace and harmony in the state. They also felt that if further consultations were necessary with other stake holders and groups then they should be held within a reasonable time frame. The Home Minister P Chidambaram , while admitting that parties held different views on issue said it was a good meeting and he will take their views to the Prime Minister and his Cabinet colleagues and formulate course of action.
