No Blueline buses will ply on the city roads in the national capital by the end of January next year. This was announced by Delhi Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely in New Delhi on Tuesday. Talking to reporters, Mr Lovely said that no permits of Blueline buses will be renewed further and will be phased out from the city roads. He said that 823 buses had also been phased out from the various routes by Tuesday evening as tenure of permits had come to end. AIR correspondent reports that providing safe and comfortable transport system is the priority area of the government.AIR correspondent reports, Delhi government has made it clear that all blueline buses will be removed from the city roads in a phased manner. After removing 823 buses, now the city have 1229. Out of which 389 buses will be phased out by the end of this month while the rest of the buses will be phased out by the end of next month. Keeping in view of the convenience of the commuters, government has also directed the Delhi Transport Corporation to make adequate arrangements of bus services to the various routes. DTC has presently the capacity of 6500 buses in its fleet and under the cluster scheme more buses will be added in its fleet in the coming months to meet the needs of commuters in the national capital.Urgent need to match skill of working age population with actual requirement: CentreThe Centre says, there is an urgent need to match the skill of the working age population with the actual requirement of the market. The Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Minister Kumari Selja said this while addressing the Parliamentary Consultative Committee attached to her Ministry in New Delhi on Tuesday. She said according to a survey report only about 2 per cent among age group 15-29 years are reported to have received formal vocational training. She said another 8 percent are reported to have received non-formal vocational training. This indicates that very few young persons actually enter the world of work with any kind of formal vocational training. The Minister said that projections indicate the emergence of a young India with 800 million in the productive age group by 2015 compared to 600 million in China. She said Skill Development Mission and the Swarna Jayanti Sahari Rozgar Yojana, SJSRY, are among the major initiatives of the government to address the issues of urban employment with specific reference to skill development and employability.
