Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh ruled out any possibility of a bailout package for private airlines by the government. Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Wednesday, Mr Singh said that government is only responsible for Air India which is a public sector undertaking. The Minister however said that the government can not keep on pouring in money to bailout Air India and the management needs to restructure its business management to become more competitive.Replying to a question, Mr Singh said that the Director General of Civil Aviation and the Aviation Ministry will not compromise with passenger safety and all airlines have to comply with safety norms.
