No bags for students till class II in CBSE schools: Govt

The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, has directed its affiliated schools to ensure that no student carries school bags till class two. <br/><br/>It has asked the schools to restrict the number of books to be prescribed for class one to eight. <br/><br/>The schools have also been advised to take all possible measures to keep the weight of school bags in control. Minister of State for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.<br/><br/>Answering another question, he denied any spinal disease in the school children because of the weight of school bags.
