No anti-India activity would be allowed from our soil: Bhutan PM

Bhutanese Prime Minister Jigme Y Thinley said that no anti-India forces would be allowed to use the soil of the Himalayan kingdom for any anti-Assam and anti-India activities. He said there is no camp of any militant group of the North East in Bhutan right now and asserted that the security forces are kept on alert to foil any such future attempts to set up camps. The Bhutanese premiere also denied the presence of Maoist elements in his country.

AIR correspondent reports, Thinley was interacting with the media persons during a brief stopover at the Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati yesterday. He had reached Guwahati from Thimphu for his onward journey to Pemagetsal district in Eastern Bhutan.

Thinley said that Bhutan is a peace loving country and take action against such forces without any hesitation as had been done earlier.

The Royal Bhutan Army launched ‘Operation All Clear’ in 2003 to destroy ULFA, NDFB and KLO militant camps on its territory that were used to train ultra cadres, store arms and ammunition and launch surprise attacks inside India.
