The demonetization has no adverse impact on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector on employment generation. Briefing media in New Delhi on the completion of three years of NDA government, MSME Minister, Kalraj Mishra said, initially demonetization caused some difficulties and people had to face unemployment but after two – three months they were taken back by the industries.<br/><br/>He said, in fact more people got employment in the MSME sector later. Mr. Mishra said around 11 lakh people were provided employment in the last three years through the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme. The Khadi Institutions employed more than 11 lakh people each year in the last three years.<br/><br/>The Minister informed that the Coir industry is currently employing over 7.21 lakh people out of which 80 percent are women. He also said the government has taken several steps including increase in the budgetary allocation by 216 percent in 2016-17 to boost the MSME sector. The income tax for small companies has also been reduced.<br/><br/>He added his ministry is actively pursuing setting up of 15 new technology centres and upgradation of 18 existing centres at the cost of 2200 crore rupees for the promotion of MSMEs.<br/><br/>he government has also notified a framework for the revival and rehabilitation of the MSMEs and has launched My MSME mobile application for effective implementation of sachems and for addressing the grievances.
