<span style="color: #222222;">Along with the hugely popular Public Bicycle Sharing System launched by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation in November last year, the civic body has now introduced rental services for electric bikes.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent  reports, on how these services are helping in curbing environmental pollution while promoting a healthy lifestyle.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has taken a lead in promoting electric vehicles in Maharashtra by launching the e-bike rental scheme. To start with, the corporation has got 35 e-bikes that will remain parked across seven locations in Belapur and five in Nerul.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">To hire an e-bike, one has to simply download YULU app on their mobile phones and scan a code. An upfront payment of 10 rupees has to be made to start the e-bike and thereafter ten rupees will be charged for every ten minutes of the ride.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Once charged, these e-bike can run upto 50-55 kilometers. Additionally they have an inbuilt GPS system so that each bike can be traced.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Being the first city in Maharashtra to launch such a service, Navi Mumbai hopes to cut down on its carbon footprint drastically by encouraging people to use e-bikes, atleast for shorter distances.</span><br />
