NLMA signs MoU with banks to ensure flow of funds

The National Literacy Mission Authority NLMA today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New Delhi with 4 Public Sector banks to ensure flow of funds through a proper mechanism under Sakshar Bharat Scheme.<br/><br/>The objective is to provide required resources to non literate. The scheme was launched by the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on September 8th of this year with a view to cover 7 crore non-literate adults in which 6 crore are women. Speking on the occasion , the Union Minister of State of HRD, Mrs D. Purandeswari underlined the need to bring transparency in the delivery system so that the benefit of the scheme reaches the benefeciaries. The programme envisages fund flow of 6 thousand crore rupees in 365 districts across the country.<br/>
