NLD celebrates its 21st anniversary

Myanmar's leading opposition party, the National League for Democracy(NLD), marked its 21st anniversary by calling on the country's military-led government to release opposition activist Aung San Suu Kyi. The NLD was founded in 1988 after a pro-democracy uprising. The party led by Aung San Suu Kyi had won the elections in 1990 but was prevented from taking office.<br/>
