Bihar chief minister Nitish Kuamr has resigned a day after his party JDU was routed in the general elections. Addressing a press conference in Patna, Nitish Kumar said that, he took the moral responsibility for his party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha election and steps down from the post of chief minister.
Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to the Bihar Governor D. Y. Patil, but he has not asked for dissolution of assembly. He said that party will discuss election results and party MLA will meet tomorrow to choose their leader.
