Nitish Kumar reiterates his support to demonetisation

Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) President Nitish Kumar has reiterated his support to demonetisation of high value currency notes terming it as a positive step. Addressing JD(U) workers meet in New Delhi yesterday, Mr. Kumar said the decision will lead to benefits. <br/><br/>He termed the corruption and black money as a big sin and said severe steps will have to be taken against these evils. Mr. Kumar, however, added that demonetization alone will not end black money. The Chief Minister asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch a crackdown on benami properties immediately and target black money hoarded in assets like gold and diamonds. <br/><br/>However, in the same meeting former JD(U) Chief Sharad Yadav targeted Narendra Modi government over demonetization. He alleged that the decision is aimed at capitalising banks which are sinking due to Non-Performing Assets.
