The Bihar Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar described his the land slide victory of BJP-JD(U) alliance as the victory for development. Mr. Nitish Kumar also pledged to work harder in his second innings. Mr. Venkaiah Naidu of the BJP also said that it was the victory for development in Bihar. The BJP President Nitin Gadkari said the people in Bihar have voted in favour of good work done by the Bihar Chief Minister.The RJD Supremo Mr. Lalu Prasad said that he accepts the defeat with humility. He said he will soon review what led to these results. Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan, the leader of Lok Janshakti Party which had an alliance with RJD expressed similar sentiments. The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh congratulated Mr. Nitish Kumar. He assured Nitish Kumar that the centre will work with the state government for the development of Bihar. The UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi said her party did not have much hope in the state. The Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram while congratulating Mr. Nitish Kumar and BJP for the extremely good show wished them the best for running a progressive and forward looking government.The Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari said that the party fought the elections in the state on its own and there are difficulties in doing so. He said that the Congress is trying to revive the party in the state and will continue to do so.
