Union Minister for Road Transport &amp; Highways, Micro, Small &amp; Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari today laid the foundation stones of 15 National Highway projects of Nagaland through video conference. The Union Minister also inaugurated the improvement of city portion of Dimapur City NH-39. The total cost of the 15 National Highways projects in the state is worth over 4,127 crores rupees having a total length of 270 km.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''After the inauguration and laying the foundation stones to these 15 highway projects, Union Minister Gadkari said the government is committed for the progress of the Northeast region especially the state of Nagaland. Stating that Nagaland has tremendous potential for minerals, pineapples and bamboos, the Union Minister expressed hope that the state will plant industries by using the raw materials available in the state and create more employment opportunities to the youth of Nagaland.<br />''<b><i><u>&nbsp;</u></i></b><br />''AIR correspondent reports, the construction of 2-laning road of Peren-Dimapur section of National Highway 129A will ease the movement of people between Dimapur and Imphal having a&nbsp; total length&nbsp; of 17 km with project cost 257 crores.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''&nbsp;While, the construction of 109 km Kohima- Jessami road of NH-29 cost Rs. 1700 crores will join Kohima city with the villages and town of Phek District. This will also play an important role in an international stage of the region.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The Kohima by-pass road having a total length of 45 km and an approximate investment of 872 crores will enable transport coming from outside to by-pass the main city of Kohima.&nbsp; Besides, the upgradation of the existing road to 2- Lane from Kohima- Mao section will also boost the economic growth and these roads will lead to better relations with eastern areas of the region.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The total length of the 2- Lane from Kohima- Mao section cost a total of 316 crores having a total length of 26 km.
