Nitin Gadkari launches projects worth Rs 4000 crores in Allahabad

Union Minister for Road, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari, yesterday laid the foundation of several roads, highways and bridge projects of about four thousand crore rupees in Allahabad. <br/><br/>In a program, Mr. Gadkari flagged off the work of extension of National highway from two to four lanes between Pratapgarh to Allahabad and also laid the foundation for a four lane highway connecting Allahabad to Madhya Pradesh border area. He also announced some new road projects connecting Allahabad with other places.<br/><br/>While launching the projects, Mr. Gadkari said development is top priority of NDA government and the work which could not be done in last sixty years will be done in the current five years only. <br/><br/>He also launched the new six lane road bridge over Ganga River at Phaphamau area of Allahabad and announced the acceptance of a project of an eight lane road bridge over Ganga river on Allahabad -Varanasi route near the sangam area.<br/> <br/>Underlining the importance of logistic facilities, he said, work on waterways between Haldia and Varanasi is under progress and the waterways between Varanasi and Allahabad will also be implemented soon. <br/><br/>Mr. Gadkari said, government is not discriminating against any state for the development work. He promised that all road and bridge projects for Allahabad and nearby districts will be completed before the next Kumbh Mela of 2019. <br/>
