Nitin Gadkari Highlights Ropeways for Traffic Reduction, MoU Signed for Maharashtra Development

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that ropeways will play a vital role in reducing traffic. He said, Central Government is exploring various options to reduce traffic congestion in the cities, highways as well as remote areas. Speaking on the occasion of the signing of the MoU with Government of Maharashtra in Mumbai today, Mr Gadkari said that the ropeways will be developed in various parts of the state, and suggested early preparation of 'Detailed Project Report' to proceed with the work faster.<br />''<br />''Indian Academy of Highway Engineers of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and Maharashtra Urban Development Department signed this MoU for the development of a Traffic Simulation Model in six cities in Maharashtra including Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and Nashik. Apart from this, National Highway Logistics Management Limited and Maharashtra Public Work Department also signed an MoU for ropeway development in the State.
