Union Road Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari today called upon the States and road experts to adopt an integrated approach for cost-effective, environment- friendly and accident- free highways in the country. He emphasised on water conservation as it be can be ensured simultaneously with the road construction which provide multi-sectoral benefits. <br/><br/>Addressing the ongoing 77th annual conference of the Indian Road Congress in Hyderabad, he said top priority should be accorded on making the national highways, green and accident- free. He asked the stakeholders of highway construction to take care in this direction right from preparing the Detailed Project Reports. More than 2000 engineers, experts and senior officials from various countries are participating in the programme.
