India’s space programme primarily focuses on deriving socio-economic benefits from space technology and its applications for national development. To meet the ever-increasing demands of the Indian Space Programme and to commercially exploit the products and services emanating from the Indian Space Programmes the ‘New Space India Limited’ was incorporated in March 2019. It’s a Bengaluru-based company wholly owned by Govt. of India.<br />”&nbsp;<br />”<span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that New Space India Limited is a commercial arm of ISRO. It has the capability to configure, build and deliver satellites and satellite sub-systems for different applications. Towards this NSIL works with customers, leveraging maximally on the capabilities and infrastructure available at various ISRO centers and Indian industry. It has also been mandated to provide transponder capacity on INSAT or GSAT satellite to Indian users for services like DTH, TV, DSNG etc. NSIL is mandated to provide Remote sensing services and mission support services to global users. The company is the nodal agency for carrying out PSLV and SSLV production through Indian industry under a consortium route. It is also working to transfer technologies developed by ISRO, so that benefits of the space programme are transferred to Indian industries. Which will ultimately contribute towards technological self-reliance, industrial growth and national development.</span><br />
