Today, we take a look at ‘ Bharat 6G’ mission for catalyzing the next-generation 6G telecom research and innovation in the country.<br />” <br />” AIR correspondent reports that while the country has already launched the 5G technology in telecom sector, The Department of Telecommunications constituted a Technology Innovation Group on 6G on 1st November 2021 to develop Vision, Mission, and Goals for developing a roadmap and action plans for 6G network in India. Giving a further push to this technological endeavour Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the Silver Jubilee celebration event of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) held last year said, India’s telecom sector is a great example of self-reliance and the country should be able to launch 6G service by the end of this decade as the task force has started working on it. The Prime Minister also said, the Government has encouraged healthy competition which has led to India having the cheapest telecom data charges. Recently, The Union Cabinet also gave its nod to a third revival package for public telecom- BSNL, with a total outlay of 89 thousand 47 crore rupees. It includes an allotment of 4G and 5G spectrum for BSNL through equity infusion. Now the upcoming 6G network will also boost the tele-connectivity and will bridge the digital divide in the country.
