Nine police officials suspended in a custodial death case in Allahabad

Nine police officials have been suspended in a custodial death case in Allahabad. The DIG Police Brij Bhushan told AIR Allahabad correspondent said that the Station Officer of Ghoorpur Police Station and one Assistant Sub- inspector and seven other constables have been suspended in this case. The four persons had been arrested on Sunday when they fired on a police constable during a raid by police party in a country made liquor shop. The two victims named Sanjay Nishad and Ashok Nishad died in police custody on Monday. The family members alleged that both of them were brutally tortured by the area police and they succumbed to injuries. The IG Police Chandra Prakash had also accepted before the post mortem on Monday evening that injury marked had been found on the victim’s body.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Police has reiterated that both the culprits who succumbed due to police torture were having criminal records. District Magistrate has also ordered for magistrate inquiry on this custodial death issue. The ADM (administration) will investigate this case and will file his report within fifteen days.<br/>
