Nine people killed, 22 missing in landslide in Nepal

In Nepal, Nine people were killed and 22 others were missing after a massive landslide triggered by overnight rainfall. A senior government official said that the incident took place at around 2:30 am this morning when a huge mound of earth falling from the upper belt jolted Nagpuje, Bhirkharka and Newar Tole villages of Sindhupalchowk district. The district is about 120 km east of Kathmandu city.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Chief of the District Police Office, Rajan Adhikari, said that seven bodies were retrieved from the incident site and two more bodies were recovered from Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi rivers. A joint team of Nepal Army, Police, and the Armed Police Force has been deployed to conduct the rescue operations.</span><br />
