Nine killed in two separate accidents in Jammu

In Jammu and Kashmir, nine persons were killed and five others seriously injured in two separate accidents in Jammu Division today. Eight persons were killed when a tempo carrying 12 persons skidded off the road about 20 kms from Mahore in Reasi district and fell into deep nallah resulting in on the spot death of 8 persons. The accident occurred when the driver tried to negotiate a sharp curve but lost control and the vehicle fell into the nallah. The tempo was on its way from Shahdra Sharief, a religious place in Rajouri district to Gool Ramban when it met with the accident. The death toll is likely to rise as condition of some of the injured is very critical. In another accident, one person was killed on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Jaiswal Bridge in Ramban when his car had a head on collision with a truck coming from opposite direction. The truck driver also received multiple injuries as the truck skidded off the road and fell into a 150 feet deep gorge.
