In Uttarakhand, a series of cloudbursts killed nine persons and left five people injured in Rudraprayag district on Sunday. With this, the death toll in cloudburst related incidents in the district since Friday has raised to 47. Cloudbursts struck four villages including Kirorimalla, Timli Badma, Dugur Shemla and Simbal on Sunday morning. Executive Director of Disaster Management and Mitigation Department Piyush Rautela said, 23 persons are still missing. He said, a number of houses have been flattened and rescue operations are being carried out in the area.
