The Jal cyclone which has taken the shape of deep depression and reached Karnataka border has done considerable damage in nine districts of the state.The Revenue department in Karnataka has put number of deaths due to rain to nine and estimated the damage to property at over Rs. 31 crore. Apart from these nine districts of Chitradurga, Tumkur, Chikbalapura, Hassan, Davangere, Haveri, Bellary, Kolar and Mandya crop loss has been reported from Chickmagalur, Hassan and Shimoga. The Revenue department has opened four Relief camps and accommodated 370 people in Chitradurga district.
