The death toll in the ongoing violence in Assam has gone up to 16 in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts. Unidentified miscreants killed four people in Chirang on Sunday. Twelve people have so far lost their lives in Kokrajhar.

The District administration has re-imposed night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am as a precautionary measure. Police have detained 11 people suspected to be involved in the violence. Prohibitory orders under section 144 have also been issued in the district.
