Nigeria's main militant group, the MEND on Saturday called off its ceasefire with the government. The move has given a deadly blow to the fragile peace in the restive nation. It also threatened the multinational oil companies in the country with attacks at their installations.<br/><br/>MEND – Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta – was granted amnesty by the Nigerian government last year. The militants said they ordered a ceasefire last October, hoping they would consider true dialogue to bring justice to the people of the Niger Delta and true peace to Nigeria. But they said the government had acted like a victor.
