In Madhya Pradesh, police have gunned down eight SIMI terrorists in an encounter at Acharpur area near Bhopal today.<br/><br/>They had escaped from Bhopal Central Jail last night after killing security guard Ramashankar.<br/><br/>The names of the terrorists who are killed Shiekh Mujeeb, Majid, Khalid, Zakir Badrul, Saleek, Aqueel, Mehboob, Amjad Ramzan.<br/><br/>The encounter took place with the help of local villagers, about 10 kilometres from the central jail.<br/><br/>IG Bhopal range Yogesh Chaudhry said that these terrorists had weapons with them and they got killed in cross-firing.<br/><br/>Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the National Investigative Agency (NIA) will probe the SIMI terrorists jail break incident.<br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that Shivraj Singh Chouhan told media in Bhopal that union home minister Rajnath Singh has accepted his request for a NIA probe into the incident. He said that this decision has been taken as the terrorists might have links in other states.<br/><br/>The state government has suspended four senior officers including DIG jail, while ADG Jail has been line attached at Police Headquarters.<br/><br/>Former DGP of the state Nandan Dubey will investigate the negligence at the jail level. The ruling BJP has congratulated police for this success. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, BJP today hit out at opposition parties including Congress for questioning the authenticity of encounter of eight SIMI terrorists in Madhya Pradesh saying it is aimed at vote bank and appeasement politics. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters in New Delhi, BJP Spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said, the sympathy of opposition parties for such people who were involved in bomb blasts, murders and other heinous crimes is disgusting. <br/><br/>He accused Congress, Left and other parties of showing sympathy for terrorists and separatists at a time when security forces are neutralizing the anti-national forces at the border.<br/><br/> Mr. Rao also rejected the oppositions' demand for a judicial probe into the killing saying NIA is competent to handle such cases. <br/> <br/>Earlier, Congress leader Kamal Nath sought a judicial probe into the incident saying people must know under what circumstances they escaped and how within hours they were killed. <br/><br/>Supporting the demand, CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat termed the government and police versions as concocted.
