NIA submits chargesheet in connection with training camp organised by SIMI

The National Investigation Agency on Thursday submitted the charge sheet in connection with the training camp organised by the banned SIMI outfit at Wagamon in Kottayam district in Kerala.The chargesheet was filed before the NIA Special Court in Kochi. NIA said the camp, held in December 2007, was organised with the aim of waging war against the country and to disturb communal peace. It said the camp imparted training in the use of fire arms and in the manufacture of bombs.37 persons are accused in the case, of which eight are absconding. The rest are in the custody of Gujarat Police in connection with 2008 Gujarat serial bomb blasts case. The accused include four from Kerala, nine from Karnataka, 10 from Gujarat and eight from Madhya Pradesh. Three of the accused are from Uttar Pradesh, two from Jharkhand, and one from Maharashtra.
