The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today carried out raids at 12 locations in Hyderabad and detained 11 persons, who are alleged ISIS activists and their supporters. <br/><br/>On a tip off from the Central Intelligence Agencies about some terror activity, the NIA along with NSG and local police carried out the search operations. Senior officer from NIA informed that the suspected ISIS members were planning to carry out terror strikes in India and were in touch with handlers in Syria. A number of weapons and unaccounted currency to a tune of 15 lakh rupees have been seized.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the National Investigation Team completed the operation jointly with the NSG and the Local police. Though the activities of ISIS were not new to Hyderabad, there was no such incident which came to light in the recent past. The NIA conducted the raids quietly on a tip off from the national intelligence agencies that there was some suspected activity of ISIS. <br/><br/>They conducted raids at 12 places including Shalibanda, Hussaini Alam, Bhavani Nagar, Meer Chowk, Chandrayana Gutta. The NIA picked up 11 suspects including six youths for having links with ISIS or their supporters. Among the weapons they recovered, there are Two Chinese make 9 MM pistols, an Airgun and High grade explosives. <br/><br/>During the preliminary enquiry, it was also revealed that the suspects used to do firing practice with air guns. <br/><br/>Based on the available material and information gathered, the investigation authorities are suspecting that the ISIS activists have targeted something big like malls, religious places, and even public places through an independent terror module. <br/><br/>However, the face book chats, telephone conversations from the suspects are being analyzed and more details are awaited as the investigation is underway.<br/><br/>
