NIA arrests prime accused in Bengaluru Church Street blast case

National Investigation Agency, NIA has arrested Mohd. Rafeeq, alias Jaweed, alias Alam Jeb Afridi, a resident of Ahmedabad for his involvement in the Church Street blast case of Bangalore. <br/><br/>A bomb blast occurred on 28th of December 2014 in front of Bar and Restaurant at Church Street causing a death of one civilian. <br/><br/>According to an official release issued by the investigation agency in New Delhi, the accused had been residing in outskirts of Bangalore for nearly three years and working as a Air-Conditioner Mechanic. <br/><br/>Afridi was also wanted in another NIA case relating to organisation of terrorist training camp by SIMI at Waghamon in Kerala. He is also suspected to be involved in Ahmedabad blast cases of 2008. He has also admitted his role in an arson incident at Israeli Visa centre in Bangalore.<br/><br/>The NIA has recovered a lot of anti-semitic hate literature from his residence in Bangalore. He has been remanded to NIA custody for ten days by the NIA special court.
