The National Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice K G Balakrishnan says the Commission is planning to implement several of its human rights related programmes through Panchayati Raj institutions. Inaugurating a seminar on Panchayati Raj and Human Rights organised by the NHRC in Kochi on Friday, Justice K G Balakrishanan said the Commission will have excellent working coordination with panchayats for this purpose. He noted that human rights will help to improve the living conditions of the poor the marginalised sections of the society.
