The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today sought a report from the Tamil Nadu Government on the explosion in a fireworks factory in Sivakasi earlier this week.

About 38 people were killed and more than 50 injured in the incident. Taking a cognizance of media reports, the commission has asked the State Chief Secretary to submit the report within four weeks on the September 5 incident.
