National Human Rights Commission on Thursday recommended to the Centre to impose a ban on Endosulfan, the pesticide whose use has led to havoc in Kerala. Taking a serious note of the human rights violation of the people affected by the use of pesticide endosulfan in Kerala's Kasargod district, the Commission made a series of recommendations. They include a nation-wide survey of populations that have been affected by the use of endosulfan and support to the state Governments' efforts to provide relief and long-term rehabilitation.
