The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC organized a first-of-its-kind open hearing and Camp sitting on various issues related to atrocities and problems faced by Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste at the ATI, Kohima today.<br/><br/>Addressing the camp, Justice D. Murugesan said that Human rights are the basic rights of every human being derived by birth. <br/><br/>He said, NHRC was established with a hope to protect the human rights of the citizens of the country. He stated that the problem of Nagaland is unique and therefore it is essential for the State to establish a State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), which he said is the only way to protect the rights of the people. <br/><br/>Concluding his speech the Justice said the seminar is an extension of justice to the doorstep of the people and also an opportunity for the Human Rights Commission to create awareness and sensitize the officers and public about human rights and related issues.<br/><br/>
