The National Human Right Commission, NHRC, will conduct a two day open hearing in Jaipur from 13th of this month on complaints of atrocities against Scheduled Castes in Rajasthan. Over 115 complaints relating to atrocities against Scheduled Castes and problems faced by them in seeking justice from the State Government agencies has been short listed for the hearing. Our correspondent reports that the Commission has decided to hold such open hearings to reach out to the Dalits and hear their complaints about violations of their rights by the public authorities. The NHRC has earlier held three such open hearings in Odisha, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu during the last few months.
