<span style="color: #222222;">National Human Rights Commission, NHRC has issued notice to the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh over the reported death of a man due to alleged assault by police personnel in custody in Kannauj. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Taking cognizance of the media report, the Commission issued notice and called for a detailed report with the status of the criminal case registered against the police personnel within four weeks, including relief, if any provided to the family of the deceased. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Commission observed that the contents of the news reports, if true, raise serious issue of violation of human rights.</span>
