The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, sent notice to the Uttar Pradesh Government over reported barbaric assault of a young man by a village head in Firozabad district on Monday. The NHRC has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report that a young man on allegation of theft was hanged to a tree and fire was ignited underneath in full public view. Reportedly, a mob led by the village head of Divaichi beaten the young man and dragged outside his house 28th of March this year.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The NHRC called for a detailed report in the matter within six weeks including status of the FIR registered, health status of the victim and whether any monetary relief was granted to him.</span><br />
