<span style="color: #222222;">National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports that a girl hailing from Manipur was subjected to racial discrimination and brutally attacked by some locals from Faizapur, Gurugram in Haryana on 10th May. It has issued notice to Chief Secretary, Haryana Government and Commissioner of Police, Gurugram calling for detailed report in the matter within 4 weeks. <br />''<br />''It has also asked for status of investigation by police after registration of FIR and relief and counselling provided by authorities to victim. The commission further observed that it is "disgusting" that a woman from northeastern part of her own country has been subjected to "racial discrimination and physical assault by a local family in the NCR.</span><br />
