National Human Rights Commission has issued notice to Civil Aviation Ministry and Air India after reports of death of a technician on Mumbai airport. They have been given two weeks to respond. NHRC took suo motu cognizance of media reports that an Air India ground staffer died after he was sucked into the engine of an Air India aircraft on the 16th of this month. The Commission has observed that safety and security of both technical and non-technical staff are of great concern.
