NHRC not ready with Bhatta-Parsaul report

The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC today said its investigation report on the police firing in Bhatta-Parsaul villages in May is not yet ready and it has not been submitted to its Chairperson. An official release said, the NHRC investigation team's report has not been finalised. It added that, after finalisation, first the report will be placed before the Full Commission for consideration and any further proceeding in the matter which may be brought in the public domain. The NHRC clarification came after some reports in the media suggested that the Commission's team ruled out rape of women by policemen in two villages of Greater Noida. The Centre has cast doubts over the veracity of the content of the report.The release also said the investigation team's report on the alleged rape and murder of a girl in a police station premises in Lakhimpur Kheri was also still in the process of finalisation.
