National Human Rights Commission, NHRC today issued a notice to Uttar Pradesh government over reports of a fake encounter in NOIDA. Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports, the Commission has sought detailed reports from state Chief Secretary and Director General of Police within six weeks. <br/><br/>The Commission asked them to look into the emerging scenario, personally and take appropriate action to sensitize the police personnel not to abuse their power to harass the innocent citizens. On Saturday, a 25 year old man was shot in NOIDA by Sub-Inspector of UP police who reportedly told his colleague that the encounter will earn him an out of turn promotion.
