The National Human Right Commission( NHRC) has issued a notice to Madhya Pradesh Government on death of a tribal due to silicosis in the Panna district. The Commission has taken cognizance of the incident on a complaint by an NGO. It has called for detailed reports on this issue. The NHRC has also directed the authorities to inform what measures have been taken to prevent silicosis in the state and any compensation given to the next of kin of the deceased.
