The National Human Rights Commission today issued notices to the Medical Education Secretary of Uttar Pradesh and District Magistrate of Gorakhpur in connection with the the allegation that six patients died following doctors strike that paralyzed healthcare services in a Gorakhpur Medical College .
In a suo moto cognizance of the media reports the commission has asked them to submit a report within two weeks. The medical services in Baba Raghav Das Medical College of Gorakhpur were completely paralyzed by junior doctors resulting in deaths . The Commision observed that the contents of the media report, if true raise the serious issue of violation of human rights .
