The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC issued a notice to Gujarat Government on Wednesday, on media reports that 23 thalassemic kids allegedly tested positive for HIV after they were transfused with infected blood at the Civil Hospital in Junagarh District. The NHRC has asked for a factual report from the State Government in this matter within four weeks. It also observed that if the allegations in the media reports are true then these amount to violation of the Right to Health of Children.
