National Human Rights Commission, NHRC has issued a notice to the Delhi government on alleged corporal punishment inflicted on an 8-year student by a teacher at a government school in the city. Taking suo motu cognisance of a media report, the Commission sought a report from the Chief Secretary within four weeks. <br/><br/>As per media report a guest teacher at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya pushed the student of class 3 on the ground as he had refused to massage the former's legs. The NHRC has observed that the report, if true, raises serious questions of violation of human rights of the young, school-going children.
