The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notice to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Bihar over the reported beating of an elderly teacher by the police in Kaimur district. The 70-year-old victim allegedly fell down on the road with his bicycle after he was beaten.<br />''<br />''The Commission asked for a detailed report in the matter within four weeks. The NHRC also asked for the present status of the FIR registered against the responsible police personnel and departmental action taken or proposed to be taken against them.
